Archiepiscopal College of Veszprém
The Archiepiscopal College of Veszprém is authorized to launch programmes in the fields of religious life, teacher training, humanities, economics and social sciences. Currently, the College offers the Teacher of Religious Education undivided MA and the Social Work BA programmes.
For students who wish to put their religious knowledge not only at the service of teaching and education, but are also committed to getting to know Christian religious life, values and theological thinking in a scientific way, we highly recommend the Teacher of Religious Education undivided MA program. The duration of the programme is 10 semesters full-time.
Despite its name, social work is not simply work, but a vocation focusing on the relationship and conflict between a person and his social environment. The aim of the training is to prepare professionals who can effectively help improve the quality of life of individuals and communities, and are able to actively participate in the identification and prevention of factors threatening individuals and society. The duration of the Social Work BA programme is 7 semesters full-time. Education provides theoretical knowledge, develops professional skills, conveys values and develops practical proficiency.
Our scientific efforts go beyond the usual higher education framework. In the autumn of 2021 the College founded the Pedagogy of Talents Workshop. In November 2022 the Ecumenical Pedagogy for Religion Workshop was established in order to create a focal point and a sort of force field in Veszprém for the international and local best practices of talent nurturing and pedagogy for religion.
Education relating to social sensitivity, embracing the poor and the needy (education relating to the respect for human dignity), forming the human character are not only moral and religious moral principles but social responsibilities of an institution maintained by the Church, consequently it also refers to our College.
The Dormitory of the Archiepiscopal College of Veszprém is situated close to the town centre in the middle of a green area in a quiet neighbourhood. International students are hosted in double rooms with own bathrooms. Free WIFI is available in all rooms. Each room has a balcony with a nice view over the old town. On each floor there is a well-equipped kitchen and a laundry. Further facilities: dayroom, chapel, room for table tennis.
