Felvételi követelmény | Alapdiploma (vagy magasabb szintű) Applicants must hold a university bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent college degree) in the fields listed below. Full credit acknowledgement is only given for a Bachelor’s degree in German Studies, Specialized in Scandinavian Studies. In case of any other degree, each diploma will be considered individually. The applicant must have at least 50 credits in the field of Scandinavian studies (Linguistics, Literature and Culture) to enter the programme. Transcripts from your bachelor’s degree as well as course descriptions will be requested. The educational and outcome requirements are defined by the Ministry of Human Capacities, Regulation No. 18/2016. (VIII. 5.). Details of the application and admission process are defined by the Organisational and Operational Regulations of ELTE. A jelentkezési dokumentumokat a következő nyelveken tudjuk fogadni: angol / svéd / norvég / dán. A iskola gyakran tud megfelelő nyelven készült indexmásolattal/kreditigazolással szolgálni. Amennyiben ez az Ön esetében nincs így, szüksége lesz hivatalos fordításra az eredeti dokumentum hivatalos másolatával együtt. Végül az egyetemre magával kell vinnie a bemeneti követelmények teljesítését igazoló dokumentumok eredeti példányát. |

Program description:
Målet med utbildning i skandinavistik är att utbilda experter som kan använda sitt skandinaviska språk, antingen danska, norska eller svenska, både skriftligt och muntligt på en hög nivå, kan kommunicera med de två andra skandinaviska språkens talare på sitt eget huvudspråk, och har breda teoretiska och praktiska kunskaper om hela Skandinaviens språk, litteratur, kultur och historia. Dessa färdigheter och kunskaper kan de senare använda både teoretiskt och praktiskt inom arbetslivet också: inom turismen, näringslivet, media och pressen, kulturen och statsförvaltningen; de kan dessutom översätta och tolka allmänna texter; känner samhällets, ekonomins och miljöns förhållanden och problem både i Ungern och i Skandinavien. Ett annat mål med utbildningen är att förbereda studenterna för studierna på avancerad nivå (MA resp PhD).
Short description:
Students of Scandinavian Studies will be able to acquire wide-ranging education, different skills and competences during their studies. The program provides courses in the liberal arts, special Scandinavian and philological studies, language skills development at a higher level, and special seminars on Scandinavian languages and cultures. Students will gain comprehensive cultural, historical and literary knowledge regarding the whole region of Scandinavia and especially a chosen Scandinavian language/country. In the scope of the Master course, students have a choice of specializations in linguistics and philology based on core studies, and preparation for possible academic fields.
Strength of program:
The Master program aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge as a philological discipline (linguistic, literary and cultural studies) of Scandinavia to graduates who will thus be familiar with the fields and methods of academic research and be able to meet the requirements of the PhD program. Note that the program does not offer teaching qualifications.
Entry requirements: A C1-level, internationally recognized language certificate in the target language or a diploma in the target language. A bachelor degree in Germanic Studies, Specialized in Scandinavian Studies is also required.

Entrance exam description: The application documents are processed by the Department of International Affairs and then forwarded to the department responsible for the given degree programme. The department checks the documents and organizes an interview by telephone, online (e.g. Skype) or in person. After the entrance interview, the department comes to a decision and informs the Department of International Affairs.
