Program description:
The Doctoral School of Physics of Eötvös Loránd University was founded in 2001. The topics covered by the School are organized in three Programs: Material Science and Solid State Physics Program, Particle Physics and Astronomy Program and the Program for Statistical Physics, Biological Physics and the Physics of Quantum Systems. The program is research oriented: although students are required to attend special courses, they start their research activity immediately after entering the School. This is necessary because to get the degree they must have at least two papers published in internationally renowned journals. The research activity is done in close collaboration with four Research Institutes of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Wigner Research Center, Materials Science Research Institute, Astronomy Research Institute, and Immunology Research Institute).
Entry requirements:
A master’s degree in physics (or in a related field) is a mandatory requirement.
Type of entrance exam:
oral and written
Entrance exam location:
online
Entrance exam description:
During the entrance exams they should solved a series of tasks in an hour. Those who fulfill it properly participate in a brief oral skype conversation.
