Program Description:
Our Physics BSc program, a curriculum of long tradition, leads to a BSc degree in six semesters. This programme includes courses in basic experimental physics, as well as strong theoretical physics and mathematics, complemented by intensive laboratory exercises, and skills in informatics, electronics and measurement techniques from the first semester onwards. The BSc in Physics and the subsequent Master’s degree in Physics cover a wide range of fields, from fundamental theoretical physics research through practice-oriented experimental research to applied industrial research and development. Our focus areas include: quantum field theory, exotic quantum phases, ultracold atoms, data science, quantum physics and technology, nanotechnology, materials science, optics and photonics, nuclear technologies and medical physics.
BME Physics training is designed to equip you with complex scientific knowledge and creative problem-solving skills. A physicist focuses not only on the “how” but also on the “why”, making a physics degree useful in any area of life where complex systems need to be modelled and complex problems to be solved.

- secondary school leaving certificate, – successful admission test, – language skills proven by TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent certificates (for further information refer to www.bme.hu)

Steps of admission procedure: Preevaluation of the submitted documents: quality of secondary school leaving certificate and/or transcript, motivation letter, recommendation letter (if available), extra-curricular activities – electronic e-admission tests (via internet): Mathematics, Physics (the tests are in English) with larger emphasis on Mathematics, electronic admission interview (given that written test is successful): assessing knowledge, language skills, motivation, attitude – visit www.bme.hu for further information and training for the test. Result: admission to BSc course / admission rejected.
