Áttekintés
The study programme is designed to train Social Workers who are competent in Social Work practice and are prepared to introduce professional innovations while protecting human rights and representing the values of social justice. As professionals, they utilize their extensive knowledge and specific competencies on human behaviour and on social systems; thereby serving purposes of social integration, strengthening democratic relations, and promoting human development. They are able to elaborate on social issues and conduct research to work out professional alternatives; to design, manage and evaluate social services; and represent the profession in a variety of public spheres. Professional requirements are in accordance with international scientific results and professional expectations. Students are prepared to continue their studies to obtain a PhD degree.

Programstruktúra
“Knowledge areas of the study programme:
Social Sciences (Sociology, Law and Public Governance, multidisciplinary Social Sci-ences) 100-115 credits including Thesis Work, as follows:
Theory and Practice of Social Work 55-75 credits;
Societal and Social Policy 12-18 credits;
Humanities (Psychology) and Medicine (Health Studies) 6-18 credits;
elective special programmes, primarily from the area of Theory and Practice of Social Work – a maximum of 15 credits.
Disciplinary/professional areas and credit rates of the specializations resulting specific competencies:
Credit rates of elective specializations within the entire programme are 30-40 credits:
a) General Social Work
Sociology, Social Policy 10-15 credits;
Theory and Practice of Social Work 20-25 credits;
b) Clinical Social Work
Theory and Practice of Social Work in Clinical Social Work 20-25 credits;
Humanities (Psychology) in Clinical Social Work 10-15 credits. Professional practical training includes field practices in external institutions, non-external small-group skills training seminars in academic settings, field research and the related research seminars, workshops and project practices and the external prac-tice-related seminars. Students are required to accomplish 200 hours of Social Work practice (direct client-helper relation) in order to develop the competencies necessary for autonomous work. Intensive field training is a semester-long continuous practice, involving at least 8 hours/week of fieldwork. Credits: 30”
