Overview
The John Wesley Theological College was established in BUDAPEST, HUNGARY, European Union (since 2004) as a higher educational institution in 1991. The College is managed by the Hungarian Evangelical Fellowship  (HEF or MET: Magyarországi Evangéliumi Testvérközösség in Hungarian).  It was named after John Wesley,  an English cleric, theologian and evangelist who was a leader of a revival movement within the Church of England known as Methodism.

The Mission Statement of the Wesley does not expect or require alignment of faith from students or professors in any of its programmes or departments including the theological department. Our mission statement represents the original mission of John Wesley; “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”

Currently Wesley provides a unique, friendly environment for students and professors love to be grounded in the daily reality of social work, pedagogy and environmental protection, close the citizens and communities.

Academic programmes in bachelor, master and post-gradual levels in the following topics:

• Social work

• Education Science

• Theology

• Pastoring

Campus location

The camppus is located in the 8th district of Budapest  close to the city centre in the wider sense as one of the 18-19th century older suburbs.  The inner part of District 8 is becoming the new-cool part of Budapest. Increasingly more locals and plugged-in tourists find refuge in this peaceful neighbourhood lined with pretty pre-war residential homes as they escape the tourist-saturated Jewish Quarter just a few blocks away.

Campus Library

The campus library is located in the College campus, offering a variety of diversified facilities for academic learning and research activities.

Campus Chapel

At the John Wesley College we have a Student Chaplaincy with a cosy little chapel, which is open for all of the students and professors. A pastor of the Hungarian Evangelical Fellowship is responsible for the spiritual life of the institution - as for instance the prayers, meetings for Bible study, excursions, but also for individual and personal meetings and pastoral conversations. The vivid, ecumenical, or even interconfessional community is open to everyone.

Student Union

The Student Union's (HÖK) primary objective is the protection of students’ interests. It deals with all concerns and issues with special importance to students of the College including placement counseling, the arrangement of cultural events, and the provision of support for student participation at scholarly conferences.

Mentor Programme for international students

The Wesley’s Mentor Programme aims to support our international students' integration into the academic and cultural life of the Campus. Mentors are English speaking students who provide administrative guidance and academic coaching for international students.
The mentoring staff organizes regularly events for the international students facilitating their integration to the Campus life and getting familiar with Hungarian culture and tradition.

Campus accommodation

Wesley has its own campus dormitory with cheap accomodation possibilities for international students.
