More flexible conditions in the 2025/26 Call for Applications!
Following the publication of the Call for Applications on 6 November 2024, the Operational Regulations of the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Programme have been amended. As a result, three changes have been introduced in the Call for Applications for studies starting in the Academic Year 2025/26.
This allows applicants to apply under even more flexible conditions. The changes are:
- After the completion of the 1-year Hungarian language preparatory course, scholarship holders are now able to continue their scholarship studies (e.g. leading to a degree) not only in study programmes conducted in the Hungarian language but other languages too. It means that under certain conditions, it is now possible for scholarship holders to continue their studies even in English or other foreign languages. This modification affected the second part of point 2.7 of the Call for Applications (see pages 13-14 of the English version of the Call).
- If multiple applications are submitted by the same applicant (e.g. from different accounts) in the same application round, it is no longer all their applications that get rejected. According to the new regulations, the application submitted last can be considered valid while all previous applications shall be rejected. This modification affected point 3.5.1 of the Call for Applications (see top of page 28). Nevertheless, please DO NOT submit multiple applications from different accounts. If you would like to make a change in your application you have already submitted, you can reopen it before the deadline.
In addition, the number of the Government Decree referred to on pages 8 and 27 of the Call for Applications has also been updated, together with the referenced part of this Decree.
The Call for Applications can be downloaded from the Programme’s website: diasporascholarship.hu/en/apply/call-for-application/
The changes do not affect the Call for Applications for the 2025 Summer University Courses. The content of that Call has not changed.
