Overview
The Communication and Media Science BA Program with a Digital Media and Public Relations specialization at Pécs prepares students for effective work in the fields of professional journalism (of both traditional, electronic and online kinds), and Public Relations, advertisement and organizational communication. The program lays great emphasis on practical training in media production and the development of students’ soft skills (empathic and assertive communication, teamwork, flexibility, creativity) and digital self-management capabilities. Graduates typically work as journalists, editors and content producers at media companies (such as newspapers, radio or television stations, online channels), publishing houses, news agencies, or as communication experts at commercial or state organizations and NGOs, responsible for press relations, event and media planning, advertisement management, copywriting, customer relations, opinion polling or marketing research.

The curriculum is 40% theoretically and 60% practically oriented. The students get an introduction in the different fields of communication and media studies and acquire the essential knowledge to start their professional carrier. The students have to collect 180 credits during their studies.
Requirements and the evaluation process may differ at the different courses, but generally in seminars the students are evaluated based on active participation and contribution, while on lectures they have to pass an oral or written exam and might face further requirements as well. In both cases, the evaluation goes from 1- failed to 5-excellent.
