Applicants will take a written examination (electronic) and if they pass this successfully, they will be invited for an oral Skype assessment. **BA/BSc/MSc degrees in the following fields are fully accepted: BSc in Business Information Technology Applicants with BA in Business or BSc in Informatics are expected, but students with other BA/BSc or Master degrees can apply, if they have at least 70 credits from sciences (calculus, statistics, informatics, etc. – 10 ECTS), business and humanities (economics, management and financial subjects – 20 ECTS), and IT subjects (computer architecture, programming, database management, system development, quality management, ERPs – 40 ECTS). As a minimum, 40 ECTS from the above subjects has to be presented upon application to the program and 30 ECTS can be obtained during the program. (During their first year of studies in the MSc in BIS program supplement courses are taken in addition to the regular curriculum. The student is expected to bear the cost of these additional courses themselves.) Applicants must submit a Request for Credit Acceptance form and a Course Form for MSc in Business Informatics. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Overview
Program description:
The objective of the program is to provide such complementary skills – relying on the previously acquired IT and management knowledge – that enable students to manage efficiently information resources in organizations.
Based on solid theoretical knowledge both in IT and in business, the program covers all areas in which an IT managage can encounter information systems. The program integrates management, controlling and accounting with IT-related competencies: managing information as a strategic resource, information strategy planning, system design and development, IT project management, application integration, business intelligence, process management, IT security and IT service management and IT audit. Key enterprise applications, major e-business and e-government technologies, internationally accepted methodologies and standards, like ITIL, COBIT, etc. are also addressed.
Entry requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, TOEFL/IELTS, written exam and if that is successful, follow-up Skype oral exam. If the bachelor’s degree is not yet available, an official certificate from the university is required stating that the student is expected to graduate in June.
