Program description:
Available PhD Programs in the field of Earth Sciences:
• Landscape protection and climate
• Natural and anthropogenous processes of litosphere and hydrosphere
• Human geography – regional development
The length of the full-time programme is eight semesters (48 months), which consists of a coursework and research, as well as a research and dissertation stage.

Entrance exam description:
On the entrance exam, candidates must present the chosen doctoral topic and the workplan of the doctoral study. They have to answer the questions of the members of the committee. They must demonstrate their professional competence.
The Doctoral School only accept those who have a university degree or, in the case of graduates, their scientific activity is close to the field of geosciences.

Programme structure
The unit of measurement of academic requirements is the academic point (credit). Credits are used for evaluating the performance of the academic, teaching and research duties of doctoral students in doctoral programmes. Doctoral students shall complete 30±3 credits per semester, and a total of at least 240 credits during the entire programme.
During the 4 years, a total of 240 credits have to be earned, ie 30 on average every semester. To accept the semester, the PhD students must have at least 27 credits, but they can not earn more than 33 credits.
