Entry qualification

Bachelor diploma (or higher) Academic requirements: Bachelor’s degree, at least 38 completed credits in the field of English studies for admission (50 credits for graduation); entrance examination in English (oral: in person or via electronic communication) The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.

Language requirements

English English language proficiency equivalent to CEFR level C1 accepted certificates: TOEFL 587/IELTS 7.0 any proctored exam on level C1, eg. Duolingo, EFSET Certificate on English medium of instruction In case of a missing certificate about the English language proficiency, we conduct a Skype interview and a written English placement test in order to check the applicant’s English language skills.

Overview

Program description:
The goal of the English Studies program is the training of experts who, besides a full mastery of the English language, possess an extensive and in-depth knowledge of the language, culture, and history of English-speaking countries. Rather than being mere passive receivers of information, students who complete this MA program will be specialists fully capable of undertaking independent and original investigations in a wide range of topics. The English Studies MA program offers two complete (120 credit) curricula: the literary and cultural studies track and the linguistics track. The choice between these two must be made before application.

Entrance exam description:
The professional evaluation of the educational materials (degree, transcripts, results) is the task of the relevant Faculty. This evaluation is followed by a Skype interview with one of the professors of the Faculty, which aims to check the applicant’s level of motivation, language skills and professional knowledge. (In case of a missing certificate about the English language proficiency we conduct a Skype interview in order to check the applicant’s English language skills.)
