Program description:
““PhD training in Mathematics in 8 semesters (4 academic years). Educational programs: 1. Algebra, 2. Analysis, 3. Dynamical systems, 4. Stochastics, 5. Geometry, combinatorics and theoretical computer science (not to be confused with informatics, which belongs to another doctoral school called Doctoral School of Informatics), 6. Didactics of mathematics. See www.math.u-szeged.hu/phd/ , where you can switch to English, for further details. The PhD training focuses on research. The possible research topics are given at www.doktori.hu/ (click on the UK flag, then click on “by number” and enter 120). Application requirements:
MSc in mathematics, internationally accepted B2-level knowledge of English: TELC B2, ECL B2, TOEFL iBT test score of at least 72, or RPDT score 72, Cambridge First Certificate at least “B”, IELTS score of at least 5.5 Good transcripts of previous studies, letters of recommendation from two mathematics professors. Applicants should choose an educational program when applying for a PhD training. Enrollment procedure: evaluation of documents (in pdf format, diploma, transcripts, certificate of proficiency in English, two letters of recommendation, earlier creative work in mathematics if any, the applicant’s ideas about possible research fields) plus a Skype interview.
