Overview
Program description:
The Doctoral School of Health Sciences with the PhD program of preventive medicine and public health was accredited in 2001. At present the Doctoral School of Health Sciences has two programs: “Preventive medicine and public health” and “Metabolic and endocrine diseases”. The PhD degree is offered to those who want to engage in public health research. Prerequisites for entering the program include: a university degree, research proposal accepted by a supervisor and an excellent knowledge of English.
Master programs accepted as entrance requirement for the PhD program include: doctor of medicine, public health, dentistry, pharmacy, health care policy, planning and financing, health psychology, complex rehabilitation, nutritional sciences, social work in health care, nursing, clinical laboratory science, molecular biology.
A wide variety of research topics and PhD courses are available for PhD students. Research areas include: public health, preventive medicine, epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, experimental oncology, behavioural science, health psychology.
Entry requirements:
MSc degree in a relevant field or Doctor of Medicine/Dentistry /Pharmacy degrees, acceptance by a supervisor and a doctoral school (including a preliminary research proposal signed by the supervisor and the head of the school)
