Overview

Program description:
The aim of doctoral training is to enable doctoral candidates to perform high quality scientific work. They have to be able to plan and conduct primary and secondary research, as well as to process the respective technical literature in an analytical and synthesising manner. Obtaining scientific methodological skills and using these methods are a requirement during the PhD course. The Doctoral School admits students mainly from the following courses: Accounting MSc, International Economy and Business, MBA, Management, Strategic Management, Enterprise development MSc, Human resources consultancy MSc, Rural development agricultural engineering MSc and Agricultural enterprise economics MSc.

The research field of the Doctoral School is built on the traditions of its legal predecessor. In a wider sense, the Doctoral School is active in the field of business, management, business administration, agribusiness, accounting, economics, sectoral methodology, marketing, finance, enterprise economics, rural development, sports economics, international relations, supply chain management.

Entrance exam description:
The professional evaluation of the educational materials (degree, transcripts, results) and the research topic is the task of the relevant Doctoral School. This evaluation is followed by a Skype interview with one of the professors of the Faculty, which aims to check the applicant’s level of motivation, language skills and professional knowledge. (In case of a missing certificate about the English language proficiency we conduct a Skype interview in order to check the applicant’s English language skills.)

Programme structure

Doctoral candidates must obtain 240 credits.
Two main parts of the curricula:
- Study credits: 20 (mandatory courses)
Mandatory courses (1. and 2. semesters):
General research methodology (qualitative and quantitative methodology skills): 4 credits
Micro- and macroeconomics: 4 credits
Enterprise economics: 4 credits
Financial management: 4 credits
Management organization and human resource management: 4 credits
General research methodology (organized by the Vice-Rector’s Office).
- Research work (From the first to the last semester): 220 credits.
Total: 240 credits.
