Music theoretical admission exam

Solfeggio writing test
- Notation of 7-8 bars of a renaissance or baroque two-part excerpt in treble and bass clefs under 6-8 times of piano dictation
- Notation of a 20th century one-part melody under 6-8 times of piano dictation

Solfeggio oral test
- Sight-reading (prima vista) singing of a given musical excerpt from score

Music theory writing test
- Notation of a Bach-choral excerpt after piano dictation with the soprano and bass parts notated, and the chords indicated as continuo numberings or music theoretical degrees.
- Notation of a music theoretical example based on the given bass and numberings.

Music theory oral test
- The most important forms and chords of the Vienna Classicals. The knowledge of basic and seventh-chords and their turns with the most typical modulations and alterations

Music history oral test
- The most important European composers, groups, forms, styles from the medieval, renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic and 20th century periods.

Compulsory piano requirements (excluding piano major)
- one composition from J.S. Bach
- one fast movement from a Vienna Classical sonata or sonatina
- one composition from a European romantic or 20th century composer

Professional motivational conversation
A short conversation with the applicant showing their ability to understand and use basic musical expressions, and present their communication skills.

The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Hungarian.

Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.
