Overview
The PhD in pharmaceutical sciences offers you a rigorous grounding in a broad range of disciplines that are critical to your success as a pharmaceutical scientist in academy or industry. Especially advanced possibilities of complex pharmaceutical research are offered at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Szeged since its different institutes cover the whole spectrum of pharmaceutical research from the synthesis or isolation of biologically active compounds through their pharmacological or biopharmaceutical investigations to their formulation. Students can join different fields of pharmaceutical research according to their interests, and at the same time gain wide-ranging knowledge in the courses available in other fields as well.The Faculty of Pharmacy takes part in international research activities too. The training material is continuously updated in light of the most recent research results.

Programme structure
The programme provides students with the understanding of the relevant fields of biology, chemistry and physics, medicine, and professional pharmacy subjects. During the course of the programme, there is also a focus on developing skills, such as technical knowledge, dexterity, communication and computer skills. Graduates usually pursue careers in pharmaceutical or chemical industries at pharmaceutical companies, laboratories or at hospitals.
